November

During November we were learning about the People of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in history. After learning about Mesopotamia and the Sumerian people and their trades, the class made clay pots. The students also liked learning about how the Sumerian people’s began to keep track of things using symbols and pictures. We will finish off the topic by painting the pots in natural colours.🟀⚫️

Art- Salmon of Knowledge 🐟

When learning about the famous landmarks of Ireland, we came across many myths and legends attached to them. The students particularly enjoyed the myth of the Giants Causeway and the Salmon of Knowledge. In art, the students created their own Salmon of Knowledge! 🐟 First, the students painted on bubble wrap and printed it onto the card. This created a water effect. The students then designed the fish and used other materials to add more detail to their work.

Ardrahan Mausoleum Trip πŸ“Έ

Friday was such a fantastic day that the students took a little trip down to the Mausoleum in Ardrahan. Firstly, this involved a little walk in the nice weather 🚢‍♀️☀️ When at the mausoleum the students looked at the different architecture and learned about its history.  It is great for the children to learn about their local history as well as history on a wider scale.

Hands on Maths πŸ“
