Sail Car

Last week, we had visitors to our classroom as some 3rd and 4th class students came to help us make our sail cars. This fitted in great with Science week and also learning about how to take care of the environment.

Our aim was to come up with many ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle.

At the end of the week, the students participated in Sail Car races.

Science Week πŸ§ͺ

The students in 3rd class got hands on this Science Week.  It was  a great opportunity to integrate science into many other subjects. For example, in history we learned the history of science and inventors. We also read about the transition of transport ‘From horses to horsepower’ 🐎 and inventors such as Marie Curie.  Having learned about the history of transport, we then imagined what the future of transport will look like. All students created excellent futuristic cars πŸš— . Well done to all!  In Art we experimented with colours, mixing primary colours to create new colours and shades. πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘πŸ”΄ We also created a lava lamp as part of a science experiment.  What you need: water, jar, vegetable oil, food colouring, steradent (or other fizzy tablet)!

Rugby Training πŸ‰

Readaton & Character Day πŸ“š

February was a very exciting month due to the Readton. The students have been doing excellent reading and enjoyed activities such as buddy readying with younger classes. To mark the end of the Readaton, the students dressed up as their favourite book character. This was a great opportunity for students to discover new authors and genres they enjoy. 😊
